Do I need a professional to install a portable AC?
No. Portable units plug into a standard 13A socket and the exhaust hose vents through a window using the included kit. You can be up and running in under 10 minutes, no engineer required.
What's R290 refrigerant and why does it matter?
R290 is a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant with one of the lowest global warming potentials available (GWP of 3, vs 2,088 for older R410A units). It's the most environmentally responsible choice and performs at least as well as legacy refrigerants.
How much room can a 3.5kW unit cool?
Comfortably up to 30 m² (around 320 sq ft) for the Be Cool models, and up to 35 m² for the Sinclair, depending on insulation, occupancy and sun exposure. For larger or open-plan spaces, talk to us about a fixed split system.
Are these units noisy?
All three sit around 51-55 dB at full power, similar to a quiet conversation. The Sinclair is the quietest thanks to premium components. All have a sleep mode that drops noise further at night.
What's included?
Each unit comes with the AC, remote control, exhaust hose and window kit, drain hose, and full UK manual. The Sinclair currently includes a free condensate pump (limited promo).
What about returns and warranty?
All units carry a manufacturer warranty (typically 2 years). Because we're a London-based F-Gas certified service company, you've got proper aftercare, not just a 0800 number. Returns within 14 days if unopened, per UK consumer law.
