How Heat Pumps Work
A heat pump doesn't generate heat by burning fuel. Instead, it extracts heat energy from the outside air (even in cold weather) and transfers it inside. For every 1 kW of electricity used, a modern heat pump delivers 35 kW of heat, making it 300500% efficient compared to a conventional electric heater at 100%.

In this day and age a company with the Be Cool level of service is rare indeed. What’s more everyone I spoke to on the phone was charming, as was the engineer. Frequently Asked Questions
Do heat pumps work in cold weather?
Yes. Modern inverter heat pumps are designed to work in temperatures well below freezing. Daikin's flagship models operate down to −25°C.
Can I replace my gas boiler with a heat pump?
Air-to-air heat pumps (the type we install) replace conventional room heating but don't produce hot water. For full boiler replacement, you'd need an air-to-water system, which is a different product. Our systems are ideal for supplementing or replacing room heating.
Are there any grants available?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) offers grants for air-to-water heat pumps but currently excludes air-to-air systems. However, the running cost savings and dual heating/cooling benefit often mean the payback period is short regardless.
