If faults are occurring on your Carel SmartCella or UltraCella Cold room, it is very important to discover it quickly. Error codes are a great way to find out the initial problem. Error codes are usually displayed on the controller.

| E3 | Probe S4 fault |
| LO | Low temperature alarm |
| HI | High temperature alarm |
| AFr | Frost protection alarm |
| IA | Immediate alarm from external contact |
| dA | Delayed alarm from external contact |
| Pd | Alarm maximum pump down time |
| LP | Low pressure alarm |
| AtS | Autostart in pump down |
| cht | High condenser temp. pre- alarm |
| CHt | High condenser temperature alarm |
| dor | Door open for too long alarm |
| EE | Unit parameter EEPROM error |
| EF | Operating parameter EEPROM error |
