A cold room installation at London St Pancras Station, fitted into a back-of-house area with the refrigeration plant sited alongside it.
The room is built from insulated panels with a wipe-clean hygienic finish and cooled by a ceiling-mounted Güntner evaporator, with the copper pipework and condensate drainage run above head height so nothing is left in the way of stock or staff. Cooling comes from a condensing unit set on its own base, with the suction line insulated along its full run back to the room.
Outside the door there is a Freddox controller and display, so the temperature can be read without opening the room up, and a Carel ColdWatch trapped personnel alarm. On a station site, where a room may be entered outside normal hours and often by someone working alone, an entrapment alarm is not something to leave to a later phase.
