Instead of rejecting heat through an outdoor unit, water cooled AC systems use a water loop to move heat away from the indoor unit. - Listed and heritage buildings External condensers aren't permitted on protected facades. Water cooled systems keep everything internal.
- Flats and apartments No balcony, no external wall access, or freeholder won't approve outdoor units. Water cooled is often the only viable route.
- Noise-sensitive locations Residential streets, hotels, and offices where outdoor unit noise would cause problems. Water cooled units run significantly quieter.
- Basement and interior rooms Rooms with no exterior walls can't use standard split systems. Water cooled units solve that with flexible pipe routing.

Someone called me back first thing on Monday morning and sent a very polite, excellent engineer on Tuesday who fixed what has been a nagging problem for far too long. I would give you 100 stars and not just the standard 5. I very much appreciated the phone call giving me notice that the engineer would arrive in one hour. In this day and age a company with the Be Cool level of service is rare indeed. What’s more everyone I spoke to on the phone was charming, as was the engineer. Everyone could not have been more helpful. I live in hope that there will be a swift return to this level of service which I have not received for a very long time. How It Works
A water cooled AC system works like a standard split system, but instead of an outdoor fan unit rejecting heat into the air, it transfers heat into a water circuit. The water carries that heat away to be dissipated elsewhere in the building's infrastructure.
This means you get the same cooling and heating performance as a regular AC system, just without needing anything mounted on an external wall or rooftop.
Water cooled units are available as wall-mounted, ceiling cassette, ducted, and floor-standing models from brands like Daikin, Mitsubishi, and Panasonic.

Is water cooled AC as effective as a normal split system?
Yes. You get the same cooling and heating output. The only difference is how heat is rejected. Instead of an outdoor fan unit, the heat goes into a water circuit. Performance is identical for the end user.
Do I need planning permission?
That's often the whole point of choosing water cooled. Because there's no external unit, you typically avoid the planning and freeholder consent issues that come with standard split systems. We can advise on your specific situation during the site survey.
How much does it cost compared to a standard AC system?
